Russia’s Norilsk Nickel ready for 6.5% duties on platinum compounds
MOSCOW, Apr 9 (PRIME) -- Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel is ready to pay export duties on platinum compounds and platinoid salts at 6.5%, which are likely to be introduced soon, CEO Vladimir Potanin told reporters on Thursday.
“As for the imposition of export duties, a decision on this matter has already been made, and a ruling will be signed in the nearest term, if it has not been already signed. Duties on platinoid salts will be increased to 6.5%. The government had such request and we believed it is incorrect to lobby absence of these duties,” Potanin said.
The company is ready to pay increased duties thanks to its good financial performance, according to the CFO.
Norilsk Nickel expects to keep 2015 exports at the level of 2014, Potanin also said.
